Star Wars Opening Crawls

Since its debut in 1977, Star Wars has become a cultural phenomenon not just in its depiction of good over evil but also the many references it has to the world in both mythology and fact. The beauty about these films regarding a 'Galaxy far, far away' is that they open with a description known at the 'opening crawl' as to what is going on within the world of Star Wars. Personally while I am a fan of Star Wars the only films I love from it are the original films (Episodes IV, V and VI) and Episode I. However it was through the expanded universe series of novels and the game 'Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds' that I came to know that there were elements not depicted in the films. This inspired me to create opening crawls before, during and after the battle of Yavin in Episode IV where the death star was destroyed in defence of the planet moon of Yavin; BBY means before the battle of Yavin, BY evidently means the battle of Yavin and ABY means after the battl

Overcoming disappointment

As a person with Asperger, I see the world differently at times and may also not see a logical point of view since my method of thinking is wired differently to others who do not have Asperger. That is probably what led to a depression; one where I did a personal development course for the counselling service known as Youthline which has been in existence since 1970. I was unable to make it onto the next level and I was unhappy about this, especially since Youthline meant a lot to me and I liked the people who were part of the course. Although the end result was greater than I could have ever imagined it to be and it was events along the way that contributed to this result.
